Brand Story
Ostrich ink originated from Tianjin Chengwen Xin Stationery Store established in 1935, and "Chengwen Xin" originated from "Chengwen Xin Printing Company" established in Zhaoyuan County, Shandong Province in 1875. Mr. Guo Yaoting, the founder of Shandong Chengwen Xin Bookstore, with a national sentiment of saving the country through industry, established the first Chengwen Xin Stationery Store (predecessor of Ostrich Ink) on the banks of the Haihe River in Tianjin, at the mouth of the Sancha River and on Guodian Street.
Ostrich ink was born during the War of Resistance Against Japan, when our country was lagging behind in science, underdeveloped in industry, and most people had not received education, so there was no united force. The beautiful mountains and rivers are like a barren desert, and the people are like scattered sand. Mr. Guo Yaoting wrote, "I hope to use the ink of cultural tools to cultivate and irrigate, making it a beautiful garden. The ostrich, accustomed to running and trekking in the desert, has an outstanding spirit of hard work and endurance, and can undertake this arduous mission.
